Compagnie NEO

Compagnie NEO

Pioneer in vertical dance, Compagnie NEO gather artists from all horizons since 2006.
Together they develop a new artistic and physical form of expression. Vertical dance is a skill which mix climbing and dance, it is a new way to consider space and movement. It is a physical art form in constant evolution.
Training for vertical dance involve specific capacity as consciousness of the body in space, physical engagement, managing weight, rhythmicity, musicality.
Compagnie NEO proposes unusual acrobatic and poetic shows. Performances take place in Switzerland and abroad as seen on the TV show « France got Talent ».
We provide training for children and adults in our training space and on our movable climbing wall.
Since 2 years, the company opened his doors to others art forms as contemporary circus. We developped rising aerobatic, 3D mapping, which create virtual scenery in movement and go throught all spatials limits. In this way each new show is a challenge to rise.

A new 8 Week Series Workshop kicks off April 24 - a few spots remain!
See the end of this message for more information on this, Weekend and Intensive Workshops, and the Vertical Creatives Summer Camp.

BANDALOOP performed in the Arctic Circle on a giant crane at the opening ceremony of the Barents Spektakel in Kirkenes, Norway. Initially part of the industrial diversification of the local economy after the first closure of the local mine, the crane was decommissioned and became a purely sculptural landmark on the Kirkenes skyline.

Watch a clip from the rehearsal here.

The Spring/Summer 2017 fashion campaign for Turkey's Network Online launched recently, featuring BANDALOOP dancing on Oakland City Hall wearing designs from Turkish designer Elif Cigizoglu's capsule collection - a striking complement to the dancers and contrast to the architecture of City Hall.

Bartenieff Fundamentals with Peggy Hackney
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, April 6-8
Cost: $225

This class works with Patterns of Total Body Connectivity (related to a developmental progression) that facilitate the lively interplay of connective kinetic chains inside the body with expression into the outer world. Basic issues of efficiency and coordination are dealt with in relation to Breath and Core Support, clarity of proximal joint articulation (including gradated rotation), weight shift, propulsion and level change, and full three-dimensional movement. Students are encouraged to locate the sensations and feelings that are brought up by the movement, and form these in some way that is personally meaningful. (This course meets the LMA Certification Program pre-requisite.) Required for CMTSE.

Alexander Technique with Carol Swann
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, April 6 -8
Cost: $225

The Alexander Technique is an educational method of body-mind reorganization that aims to promote ease in everything we do. By freeing ourselves from unconscious physical habits, we can create effortlessness in the way we live and move. Applications to voice, movement, walking, sitting, and talking will be addressed.
